In the course of this university project we were confronted with a task whose intent it was to make lives easier–the ones of the librarians and the ones of the visitors in the library. The parameters for reaching this goal were clear: complete modularity for librarians to change and move signs independently and an easy way to the desired books for the visitors. Moreover, a complete rebranding was part of this project. With a humanistic, friendly, personal and humouristic (to appeal to especially students) approach in mind, we decided for wooden pegboards to not only adhere to the quest for modularity but also to our strive for humanism and an inviting fit to the existing library furniture.
